Wedding: Elizabeth & T.J.

Elizabeth and T.J. were married on what may have been the most beautiful St. Patrick’s Day that Virginia has ever seen. Though technically still winter, T.J. and Elizabeth tied the knot under sunny skies and a temperature of 77°! These two were such a special couple, and it was evident to everyone that their love for one another was the central focus of the day.

They were married at The Inn at Willow Grove in Orange, VA, a former plantation dating to 1778 that sits atop 37 acres of idyllic Virginia land. At the crest of the property you have a clear view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. T.J. and Elizabeth rented out the entire Inn for their wedding, inviting their family and the bridal party to stay in the lovely little cottages spread throughout the property. Elizabeth and her bridesmaids prepared for the ceremony in one of the cottages, while T.J. and the groomsmen dressed in another.

Elizabeth gave each of her bridesmaids a lovely silk robe to mark the occasion. They all looked so beautiful as they leisurely prepared for the ceremony in one of the Inn’s breezy cottages.

Kara from be. hair loft did Elizabeth’s hair and makeup.

Elizabeth has the most beautiful smile and contagious laugh! It was such a pleasure to capture how much fun she was having with her bridesmaids.

Elizabeth and T.J. decided that they would like to do a first look. They decided that they would meet at the front of the Inn to share their first special moment with each other on their wedding day.

Coming back down the hill, we caught up with the rest of the bridal party. All the lovely florals were done by Sugar Magnolias. Elizabeth was absolutely stunning

Elizabeth & T.J. were married amidst boxwoods and newly blooming spring flowers, under an canopy that was creatively adorned with hanging floral arrangements in mason jars. Bluegrass band Fair Weather Bums provided the accompaniment to the ceremony, which added to the southern charm. T.J.’s father officiated the ceremony.

T.J. and Elizabeth selected The Catering Outfit to provide food for their wedding reception, and it was amazing!

It wouldn’t be St. Patrick’s day without some hearty Irish drinks.

As the sun set, guests moved to the tented dance floor next to the barn, and danced to the skillfully-paired beats of DJ Cutmaster Chop.

Elizabeth and the bridesmaids drew the guests to the dance floor, and everyone was having an absolute blast!

Elizabeth formerly worked for Gearhart’s Chocolates, so you can probably imagine that she knows good chocolate. A friend of hers from Gearhart’s made them a Chocolate Guinness Cake. They laughed as they cut into the cake, which was very dense and difficult to cut and said at the same time  ’that’s one thick chocolate stout cake!’

This was such a special wedding for such a beautiful couple. Elizabeth and T.J., thank you so much for letting me be a part of it! I wish you both the very best, and am excited for the future that the two of you will have together.

    1. Thank you! You captured this amazing wedding so beautifully. At the time, I was totally caught up with the excitement watching my brother marry this amazing woman. Then I was having a blast celebrating with the most fun, kindest group of people at the reception.

I really enjoyed being able to see the photos. I got to experience it again in stillness.
Thank you for capturing these moments that I’ll never forget.
